My power came on again last night when the eye of the storm was over my house. Although the second half of the storm was worse for most people that wasn't the case for me as the buildings around me protected me. I cant believe I have internet and satellite tv but hey cool. Anyway I am ok the water seems to be going down and nothing came into the house although I have not checked in the attic or walked around as there are debris and downed lines all over the place. Its not completely over yet but I think we are in the clear. Here are some new pics so you get an idea of what I saw last night.

Alright this is my last post for tonight as I think I should try to get some sleep. So far its my understanding that wind gusts are above 60 miles an our and it sounds like i live next to a freeway ;P I don't think flooding is gonna be a problem so I am taking most of what i might need downstairs. Hopefully i have power when i wake up its gone out briefly here a few times but no damage yet.

Things are defiantly getting worse. I don't think it will be a lot longer until power is out. As you can see from the one picture the side of a old warehouse has been torn away. I did my best to adjust the image levels so that it can be seen. Like I said before I'll try to keep you all posted.

 

Still quite in the 3rd ward wind is picking up but nothing really to report. Watching Rome season 1, Its pretty good I suggest checking it out.

Everything is cool right now in downtown houston nothing major to report but my phone has been ringing off the hook with people worried which is nice. I am a little hung over from last nights festivities but hope to have a full day of watching movies and stuff. In any case not worried yet but my cat is starting go crazy. ;P I am gonna try to keep this going but i doubt thats gonna happen as the eye of the storm might pass over my house.

A few months ago I had one of my power windows go out and found this site (http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/Grand-Prix-Window-Motor/index.html). At the time I figured it would take too much time and decided to take my car to Pep Boy's. Well that was a mistake first they charged me 129 bucks to tell me nothing was wrong when I knew I heard the something break and the window was rolling up much slower than usual. Then about a week and a half later it really broke and didn't work at all and they charged me an additional 300 something to replace the regulator and motor. To top it all off they broke some clips in the in the door panel and used folded cardboard to make it look like everything was fine.

Fast forward my driver side rear window goes out and I decided for 300 its worth looking into seeing if its something I can do. Quickly I found the part for about 60 dollars and decided to give it a shot I figured worse comes to worse I take it to a shop and have them install it saving me about 100 bucks vs buying it from the dealership. Anyway the part came in today I started working on it at about 6pm and was done at about 8:30pm. It was pretty simple and I was taking my time. If you are looking at doing a project like this I would suggest you have a 10mm socket and a ratchet on hand in addition to a set of Star (torque) screw drivers on hand (I think the one I needed was a T30 but I bought a set for 9 bucks at Auto Zone.) In any case it was well worth the time spent doing it and saving the 200 bucks and not having to leave my car at some auto shop for a 4-6 hours.

In case you were wondering I am by no means a car guy but after doing this I'm pretty sure my next thing I do with my car will be to replace the stereo system that is after I figure out how to reprogram my key-less entry. ;P Here I am a computer guy and I can install a motor/regulator and I cant figure out how to freaking program key-less entry... I am ashamed (either that or the battery in my remote is almost dead....probably.)
